How to link IT Goals to Business Goals and perform IT-based Process Assessments

Short Bio of the speaker
Greet Volders is Partner & Managing Consultant at Voquals and is specialized in CobiT, IT Governance and the development of (and controls on) IT processes. Voquals was one of the pioneers in Belgium to provide CobiT trainings and to give advice in IT Governance, which has grown to one of the core businesses of Voquals. In addition, Voquals is also specialized in the optimization of internal processes conform to SOX and CMMI. Since 2002, Greet has been an active member in several COBIT development teams iT and and was part of the team who created CobiT Quickstart. In 2004,
Greet became an accredited trainer for CobiT. In 2008, ISACA International has selected Greet as a member of the CobiT Steering Committee.
Greet also executes IT audits from a CMMi perspective and has developed IT Governance practices for several companies (using COBIT & COBIT Quickstart).
Summary of the session
You will learn how to start from generic Business Goals to select the most relevant IT goals for your organisation. Based on those IT goals, we will explain how to select the most critical IT processes. For the selected IT processes, you will learn how to perform a structured Process Assessment, based on the ISO-standard ISO15504. We will go through 1 process to explain in detail the process assessment. This approach is based on the COBIT–framework, which will be briefly explained.
