Short Bio of the speaker
Qualified as civil engineer computer science at KUL and MBA at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics & Management, Johan has 20 years of professional experience in IT infrastructures. He started his career as a datacenter consultant and project manager. Today, as department manager, he's responsible for a business unit realising consultancy, professional services in time and means mode, fixed price projects, and a full scope of managed services (onsite versus remote, local versus offshore, outsourcing versus cloud, private versus public and hybrid).
Summary of the session
Integration of IT and the Business … Yes, rich idea. It sounds to be a logical evolution to IT Business Alignment. But numerous examples demonstrate that this is less easy, even for departments belonging to the same organization. For Managed Services’ providers, the number of related challenges explodes literally, as they have to deal with several Businesses from independent organizations from different sectors … In these times of strictly controlled budgets, mastering new technologies, plus a creative and ultra-flexible approach, are key differentiators. Moreover, knowing the potential pitfalls and traps might simply be a question of survival …
