From ITIL v2 Configuration Management Database to v3 Configuration Management System - 20 May 2010
|
One of the issues when IT departments want to implement ITIL V3 is the Configuration Management System. The CMS is the V3 evolution of the CMDB. The CMS helps to integrate ITIL processes by bringing together management data that typically are availabe in many disparate data repositories. Implementing a CMS can be a challenge and is more than anything related to Processes, People and Technology. As many IT departments are building a CMS, best practices are developing.
