The topic covers the conceptual and practical backgrounds of designing and creating a service catalogue for shared service centers, hosting functions such as IT, HR, Finance, Marketing, Communications. It covers the aspects of usage easiness, service level management, organizing the work on the service requests as well as reporting needs. The presentation also explains how ITIL and ITSM solutions can be fully used for the benefit of service efficiency in a wider context including IT and non-IT domains. The presentation will include fresh real life examples based on cases where the speaker has been involved in personally.
About the speaker: Juha Salmi is currently “Business Solution Manager” at Rubik Solutions Group; he has an experience of more than 10 years in IT management solutions in focusing on the areas of Project and Portfolio management, Service Management and Enterprise Architecture. He has worked in various business and IT management positions, and spent multiple years with ERP implementations. His personal mission is to combine the general and industrial management knowledge with the good practices of IT Service management, which together can form a great basis for service efficiency improvement.
Part II: “Getting Things Done” by Christian Olivier
Getting Things Done (GTD) is an organizational method created by David Allen, described in a book of the same name. The Getting Things Done method rests on the principle that a person needs to move tasks out of the mind by recording them externally. That way, the mind is freed from the job of remembering everything that needs to be done, and can concentrate on actually performing those tasks. The goal of this presentation is to explain the principle to give you a kick start into implementing the methods. Should you wish to have some more information up front, you can already find some on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getting_things_done or on the official website http://www.davidco.com)
If you think you don’t have the time to join us, it probably means you need to.
About the speaker: Christian Olivier is an ITIL v2 Certified Service Manager and ITIL v3 expert working for Atos Origin where he manages Infrastructure related teams for the Belgian Telecom Competency Center (BTCC). He is involved in offers, projects and service delivery to the customer. He is a GTD evangelist and is actively using the methodology since 2006.
